Mid Career Management Course

Human Resource is the vital resource of any organization, hence talent management becomes the key function of organizational growth and development strategy. Technical Engineering Departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (C&W, PHE, Irrigation, LG&RD) are responsible for planning, execution, development and maintenance of all Provincial Public Infrastructure including Roads, Bridges, Dams, Irrigation channels, Tube wells and buildings etc. These important provincial departments also manage and execute the technical and financial affairs of the infrastructure development of other line departments like health, education, tourism, sports and culture etc.

Human Resource of these departments comprise of qualified engineers, However, this vital human resource of the province tended to stagnate and lag behind after a couple of years as there was no mechanism for updating their technical and managerial skills as per the emerging needs in a rapidly changing environment. Realizing this widening gap in the functioning of this key human resource of the province, the provincial government made a Mid-career level technical training a mandatory requirement for career growth of the Engineers of these departments.

Provincial Services Academy Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PSA-KP) was entrusted with design and implementation of this training programme in consultation with these Technical departments of the KP Government. A committee comprising members of these technical departments was constituted by the provincial government to prepare training modules for Engineers working at various levels in these departments. The committee proposed a training module for Engineers working in BS-18 in these departments, which was submitted to PSA-KP for approval. PSA-KP amended and improved the module to include essential technical, managerial and attitudinal elements of public servants growth at Mid-careers levels and finalized a 10-week state of the art training programme for these Engineers to improve their core competencies and optimize their output as efficient and effective public Engineers.
